Awakening Spring

Autor Ryan

Even as winter lies still on the ground
The air starts to turn as the seasons go round.
A lightness develops as the dark hour recedes;
Mother Earth’s soft embrace gently nurtures Her seeds.

As warmer winds blow in the new budding boughs,
Birds lay their eggs and the creatures arouse.
The sprouts start their journey seeking the sun
And the streambeds are flowing from winter’s last run.

Storm clouds gather in the darkening blue;
The air becomes heavy releasing its dew.
The sky is alight with spectacular play
And the thunder claps deepen and rattle the day.

Then suddenly quiet as the rains move away
Leaving smells of wet dirt and damp sodden hay.

The sun warms the land as it shines out once more, And the rainbow is born with bright colors galore.It seems overnight the Earth has turned green, the meadows in bloom with petals apreen.

New babes are birthed as the insects sing
In glorious tune with awakening Spring.
